Thank you for taking the time to learn about my Passion and my Dream of how our elderly can actively retire in a familial setting.

My name is Lori McCauley. Caring and respect for others were instilled in me at an early age. While my caring covers all areas, my passion has always been with caring for the elderly who have worked hard all of their lives and aged graciously. Those who at some point may need the same care that they did when they were very young.

I have worked in nursing homes, done private care for elderly clients, and have worked on a telemetry unit in a small private hospital. I have seen good. I have seen bad, and I have decided to do better.

LorEllen House is my vision, my passion. A residential care home with a concentration on Cancer survivors and Cancer treatment recipients. LorEllen house is a perfect replacement for the modern-day nursing home. My vision is to care for and respect our older generation, the baby boomers who have worked hard and deserve to live a quality retirement even if they don’t have Cancer. Recreation of the mind and body stimulate the soul and will keep us younger prolonging enjoyment of life. LorEllen house is designed to allow growth of their distinct personalities in a safe, personalized, clean homelike setting.

We have chef-inspired heart-healthy meals often featuring organic vegetables from our backyard garden. Because nourishment is key when recovering from a Cancer diagnosis. There are convenient times for flexible dining. Residents and staff included sitting, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, inspiring conversation to challenge those critical thinking abilities of our aging minds.

Each resident will have a private bedroom and bathroom suite. And we offer a guest room for out-of-town relatives. A most unusual but much-needed retirement facility to house our elderly.

I am asking for donations from you because you believe in giving back. You believe in the seriousness of Cancer and you want to impact a Cancer survivor’s life. I am asking for donations from you because you had helped to enhance your hard-working career, and you want to offer the same courtesy to an entrepreneur like me. I am asking for donations from you because you believe in the success of Black female-owned businesses. I am asking for donations from you because you’re as passionate about helping the elderly Cancer survivors as I am. Your donations will lighten the burden of each retired resident who is a working-class middle of the road, individual from all walks of life who can’t afford to but deserves a peaceful and safe retirement. I want to prevent them from being placed in a poorly run nursing home with employees who truly do not care about their wellbeing or comfort, taking care of them.

I ask you to contribute to LorEllen House, a nonprofit that is important to me because my mother succumbed to Cancer after a second bout many years after the first. Helping elderly cancer survivors is important to me. I ask that it be just as important to you. Thank you for sharing my passion. Together our passion and the passionate people who are working with me can change the face of nursing homes as we now know them.
